My name’s
William Kim. A 31 year old single Chinese living in a peaceful community with
my pet Mini Schnauzer, Rusky. I work in the hotel industry as an accountant but
I’m also a fiction writer on my free days. I live in a double storey house with
a nice back garden filled with herbs and flowers. My hobbies include cooking,
baking, gardening and of course, reading and writing fictions when I’m free.
My only
secret right now, is that I have a huge crush on my hot neighbour, Silver
Daliwag. He’s a fitness model, only a few years older than me and moved in from
the Philippines. Normally he would work out at home or have a swim in his
backyard pool. I would stare at his sexy body sometimes and thinking what would
happen, making my face go red every time. Occasionally our eyes meet and we
would just smile and nod. We didn’t have any chance to have a proper conversation.
There is a
park nearby our place with a nice lake view. I would take Rusky for walks
during the weekends when I’m free. There is a quiet spot where there’s a bench
to sit and rarely the residents would reach so far in the park and I would
always go there to either rest my mind or have a phone call with my sisters.
Normally it would take hours as we chatted and keep each other updated as I
miss them a lot since moving here alone.
On one such
weekend, I just finished chatting with my sisters and was just relaxing on the
bench. Little Rusky was sleeping next to my feet on a cool evening air. Looking
at the calm lake and the waterfowls flocking nearby it. I just free up my mind
and let myself drift to sleep on the bench.
Without
realising how much time has passed. I woke up bleary eyed. I was surprised to
notice a figure sitting next to me. Arms crossed and looking out towards the
lake. Rusky, which I later realised was awake, stood up from my sudden
movement.
“This is
quite a lovely view.” He said to me. After realising it was Silver, I slowly
relaxed and looked out to the lake.
“It is. This
is my favourite spot in the park.” I said to him. He was wearing singlet and
shorts. Sweating from jogging I guess.
“I’m sorry
to disturb you like this. You were sleeping so peacefully. But I can’t leave
you alone too.” He apologised.
“Thanks…” I
said to him as I blushed a little.
“You
might’ve known me already, I’m Silver Daliwag.” He introduced himself.
“Yes, you’re
a famous fitness model. I’m William Kim.” I smiled.
“And this is
Rusky.” I picked up my dog and petted it.
“He’s
cute…just like you.” He complimented while petting Rusky too.
“You need to
work on your pickup lines.” I laughed as I started to get up.
“I’m sorry,
I didn’t mean to offend you.” He got up to walk beside me.
“I wasn’t
offended. A bit surprised though.” I chuckled as we walked.
“Rusky is
not used to strangers. This is the first time I saw him so calm around you.” I
said to him.
“I just
tried to be friends with him. Good thing he’s not mad at me.” He laughed.
We continued
chatting along the way, sometimes joking. It felt good to walk with him. Before
long, we reached the front of my house. I turned and looked at him.
“Well,
thanks for walking me home. It’s nice to be in your company.” I said to Silver.
“It’s
alright, I’m happy you feel that way.” He smiled.
“Can you
give me your phone for a bit?” He asked. I just nodded and fished for my phone
from my pants pocket and passed to him. He held out his phone and keyed in some
numbers and his phone rang.
“Now that we
have each other’s contact, maybe we can meet up some time too.” He said as he
returned my phone.
“That sounds
nice.” I said as I turned to walk into my house.
“Good night,
Silver.” I said to him.
“Good night
to you too, and to Rusky.” He smiled and waved.
He was still
standing there at the sidewalk. Watching me going in, until I closed the front
door behind me. I peeked through the front window, seeing him going to his
house. My heart still beating hard against my chest after our encounter today.
After dinner
and my shower, I looked at my phone, there was a new message as I opened it to
read.
“Good night
and sweet dreams. It was nice meeting you.” It was followed by a smiling emoji.
“Good night,
Silver. Looking forward to meet you again.” I typed my reply before going to
sleep.
